How to Install a Bidet in Your Bathroom

Although toilet seat attachments and other accessories are easier to attach to the bathroom, they do not offer the same experience as a freestanding bidet. Installing a bidet or tap in your bathroom is as simple as installing any other toilet. Install the special bidet trap, and plumbing lines and then bring in your bidet to complete the job.

ATTACH THE FITTINGS & THE TAP

All secondary fixtures must be attached before the bidet can be moved to the final position. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the installation of both the flexible plumbing fittings as well as the bidet tap.

To tighten the bolt nuts that connect this hardware to the bidet, an Allen wrench is usually necessary. To prevent leaks, ensure Teflon tape on all threaded fittings.

DRILL THE BOLTS

To avoid damaging the plumbing connections, carefully move the bidet.

After the bidet has been placed in its final position, mark the area where the bolts will pass through the base.

With a power drill, move the bidet slightly to the side and drill pilot holes. Pilot holes should be drilled for each bolt, just like a toilet.

MOUNT AND LEVEL OF THE BIDET

Reposition the bidet and check that the holes are correctly positioned. To ensure a complete seal, place a wax ring over the drain pipe. The same procedure is used to install a toilet. However, bidets are lighter due to the absence of a water tank.

The bolts should be tightened. Use a spirit level to check the level of your bidet. Once it is accurate, cap the bolts.

CONNECT AND SEAL THE FIXTURE

After the bidet has been properly seated on the wax ring and bolted to a floor surface, it is time to connect the water fittings. To prevent splashes or leaks from reaching the floor, seal the base with silicone caulk. Turn off the water supply and test the bidet.
